The legal team is responsible for providing professional legal advice on all matters which have legal implications, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, legal demands and ethical standards that affect business activities.

Role outline

  • Review and advise on various contracts affecting the organisation, including negotiation of such contracts and preparing them for execution.
  • Review legal disputes/claims and provide advice in relation to initiating/defending legal proceedings as necessary.
  • Manage legal advisers where it has been necessary to brief-out legal work to external providers.
  • Legal research into law and cases, and translate into positive action in relation to Company activities, processes, policies, and training.
  • Provide training to the business on legal concepts and the application of new laws and regulations.
  • Provide general legal support and advice to the business as required.

Skills and qualifications

Ideally 2-5 PAE as an in-house counsel or private practitioner in commercial, litigation or corporate transactional law.

  • Experience in preparation and review of commercial contracts.
  • Well-developed negotiation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to appropriately manage projects and competing work priorities.
  • Solid interpersonal skills and relationship management.
  • Excellent research, analytical and interpretation skills of complex material.
