Our client is a well-respected mid-tier law firm. The partners in the Sydney office have an excellent reputation in the market for being client focused and for providing legal services that are second to none. The firm acts for ASX listed companies, international corporations, government agencies, clients in industries such as property, construction, financial services, resources, media, technology, retail, education, manufacturing, start-ups, creatives, performers.

Due to growth our client is looking to recruit a talented commercial litigator. You will work for two partners who take a collaborative approach to their work, who are supportive and who have a collaborative approach to their work. You will be involved in a mix of commercial disputes as well as some interesting intellectual property disputes. Examples of the kinds of matters you will be involved in are:

  • contractual disputes
  • intellectual property disputes include copyright, design and trade mark disputes
  • privacy disputes
  • trade practices and consumer disputes
  • corporate disputes
  • share-holder disputes
  • equitable disputes
  • inquiries and investigations

As an experienced commercial litigator you will run your own matter load, have autonomy and as this team is not top heavy there are genuine opportunities for career progression.

Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate will have:

  • At least 6 years plus pae in the area of commercial litigation, advantageous would be experience in intellectual property disputes
  • Litigation, research and advisory skills
  • Drafting and negotiation skills
  • Ability to think outside laterally
  • Client management and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a committed a team
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Drive, ambition, energy
  • Ability to supervise more junior members of the team
