A unique opportunity is a available for an experienced Debtor Account Manager to join this CBD based organisation and become an integral part of the finance team.

THE ROLE

The purpose of the role is to minimise the time between issuing invoices and collecting payments, you will build strong relationships with the clients and be responsible for negotiating payment plans, credit terms and ensuring payments are finalised.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer your responsibilities will include:

  • Manage clients through to payment of debt, with a view of 100% collection of the account balance
  • Reconcile client accounts and identify issues and errors, leading to identifiable solutions and accountability (such an incorrect billings, refunds owing)
  • Communicate with clients to understand factors behind barrier to paying their accounts
  • Keeping accurate records pertaining to client individual circumstances
  • Resolve complaints and continuously process improve to prevent additional issues relating to further account debt
  • Build relationships with clients based on trust and respect
  • Act as an advocate for clients with a focus on assisting the clients to manage their account
  • Collaborate with relevant internal departments to facilitate desired outcomes
  • Providing reports to the CFO

What you will need:

  • Strong knowledge and experience in account management and/or debtor management
  • Intermediate Excel skills and experience in finance systems
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to build rapport and build relationships based on trust and mutual respect and outcomes
  • Ability to work in an agile environment
  • The ability to confidently communicate requests and instructions to individuals and groups
  • Adaptability and strong problem-solving skills
  • Active listening skills and empathetic disposition
  • Possess a personal presentation that reflects a professional image
