Our client is Australia's leading independent law firm with offices across the country. The Melbourne office is based in the heart of the CBD in state of the art offices and has a team made up of experienced and inspiring professionals.


Joining the property and real estate team, you will work closely with another secretary and the wider team providing high level support to a partner and other lawyers.
Your responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Diary and email management
  • Screening and answering calls and taking messages
  • Drafting correspondence and documents
  • Assisting with court preparation including court filing and collating briefs
  • Dictaphone typing
  • Liaising with clients and external parties
  • File management
  • Monthly client reporting, billing and expense management


To be successful in this role, you will ideally have previous legal secretarial experience in addition to:

  • Proven experience supporting a partner or senior lawyers in a law firm
  • Strong technical proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, IT systems and a fast-typing speed
  • Experience with billing processes and billing software
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to liaise with clients and stakeholders at all levels
  • High organisational skills to manage competing tasks and deadlines
