LEGAL ASSISTANT | EMPLOYMENT & WORKPLACE RELATIONS

  • Litigation or employment law experience is desirable but not essential

This prestigious and award-winning Australian law firm is known to provide specialist advice to their clients nationally across many areas of law. This firm consists of many partners and senior fee earners who are widely recognised in the legal industry as leaders in their field.


THE ROLE
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Legal Assistant to join the Employment and Workplace Relations team on a permanent, full-time basis. In this role, you will be providing high level support to 2 partners in the team.
Your responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Proactive diary and email management
  • Answering incoming calls and taking instructions
  • Preparing correspondence and legal documents
  • Assisting with court preparation i.e., court filing and collating briefs
  • Liaising with clients, other lawyers and internal stakeholders
  • File management
  • Billing and client reporting

ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have previous legal administration experience working in a law firm together with:

  • Proven litigation experience supporting partners or senior lawyers is desirable
  • Advanced computer skills including MS Office Suite, typing and formatting skills
  • Proficiency with legal billing processes and billing systems
  • Excellent communication skills to confidently liaise with stakeholders
  • Strong organisational skills to manage conflicting deadlines
