A highly regarded global law firm with a strong reputation in the market and low staff turnover in the firm. The firm are recognised as leaders in their field and specialising in commercial and insurance with a strong client base in Australia and internationally.

THE ROLE

As a legal secretary, you will support a partner and a team of senior lawyers in the Defendant Insurance team on a permanent full-time basis in the Melbourne CBD Office.

Your main duties will include (but not limited to):

  • Diary management and arranging meetings
  • Drafting correspondence and preparing legal documents
  • Assisting with court preparation including court filing and briefs
  • Liaising with clients and internal stakeholders
  • Manage client files including opening/closing matters and e-filling
  • Monthly billing

ABOUT YOU

To be considered for this role, you must have proven secretarial experience working in a law firm as well as:

  • Solid experience supporting senior lawyers in an insurance or litigation practice
  • Demonstrated experience with billing procedures and systems
  • Strong computer and IT skills including Microsoft Office Suite and legal software
  • Effective interpersonal skills to confidently communicate with key stakeholders
  • Professional presentation and proactive attitude
