The Role & The Firm

Our client is a specialist law firm that is in growth mode. Dues to a strong pipeline of work, our client is looking to recruit a litigation lawyer at the 2 to 5 year pae level.

Our client acts for property and construction companies, SMEs, strata managers, high net worth individuals, larger corporations.

This role will see you working closely with a Special Counsel, working on a broad range of disputes and attending court on almost a daily basis.

A flavour of the work will include:

  • property disputes
  • building defect disputes
  • strata disputes
  • debt recovery and insolvency
  • neighbourhood disputes
  • leasing disputes
  • breach of contract matters
  • general commercial disputes

This is a 'hands on' role and you will be given genuine responsibility eg attend court, brief counsel, attend client meetings, have carriage of your own meetings.

The matters will be interesting and broad ranging. This is an excellent environment in which to develops your litigation skills. You will be working in a team that is supportive, friendly and positive.

Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate will have:

  • At least 2 years pae experience in the area of litigation
  • Attention to detail
  • Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Drafting and advising skills
  • Strong litigation and strategy skills
  • Ability to work in a committed team
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Drive, enthusiasm and a 'can do' attitude
