Our client is a highly successful, leading independent Australian law firm with offices across Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. This firm prides themselves on their professional working environment where everyone works to a common goal of providing high levels of customer service for their clients. They have dedicated practice groups providing an end to end service.

The Role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a HR Coordinator to join the People team with this highly regarded law firm. This position will be providing a proactive and high quality service as well as commercial support to the People Team, Partners, Practice Groups and employees on a range of matters. You will also contribute to enhancing a positive reputation of the People team to both internal and external clients.

  • People team and general HR administration

  • Onboarding and induction of new starters

  • Booking and preparing probation reviews

  • Facilitating the departure process

  • Facilitating the leave of absence and parental leave process

  • Provide support for the annual performance review process

  • Provide support for the Graduate and Seasonal Clerk programs

  • Learning and development administration

  • Project administration


  • Proven relevant experience in an HR administration position ideally within a law firm

  • Undergraduate degree in Business Management or HR Management

  • Understanding of the business and commercial context within which the HR team operates

  • Knowledge of the HR policies, processes, and procedures

  • Excellent understanding of the Legal Services Award classifications and categories as well as the Fair Work Act
