Their offices are spread across Australia in Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, Canberra and Brisbane seeing them act for Australian-based clients as well as multinational clients with Australian interests.

The Role

Joining the people and culture team within this reputable law firm will see you working closely with Section Leaders/Partners and the broader generalist/recruitment team. You will be responsible for managing the end-to-end recruitment process of mainly legal roles (up to Special Counsel level) across all offices. Your daily duties will include:

  • Drafting position descriptions and recruitment briefs
  • Considering and advising on appropriate recruitment sources
  • Briefing recruitment agencies when required
  • Screening applications
  • Shortlisting candidates & scheduling interviews
  • Conducting first round interviews
  • Collating and providing feedback to candidates
  • Conducting reference checks
  • Arranging skill testing when required
  • Managing internal recruitment when appropriate
  • Agreeing and making offers
  • Use direct sourcing method
  • Research and create market maps/searches for specific vacancies
  • Building and managing relationships with recruitment agencies
  • Working with the people and culture team to generate employment offers
  • Participating in graduate and clerkship recruitment cycles when required


  • Proven people management skills
  • Proven in-house and/or agency end to end recruitment experience within professional services
  • Advanced interviewing skills especially with candidates from a legal background
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively
  • Previous experience utilising social media tools to develop employer brand and candidate sourcing techniques
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to develop rapport and build strong relationships
  • Excellent level of attention to detail
  • Strong organisational skills
