Seek’s June employment report noted that there were 22.1% less jobs advertised this year, than in June of 2022. Additionally, it was the fourth consecutive month with rising job applications per ad (2.9% more than in May).
The Managing Director of SEEK ANZ, Kendra Banks noted that “Applications per job ad continue to grow healthily and are now almost exactly on par with June 2019 levels.”
The post-COVID marketplace was tumultuous, with low application rates, and high ad posting. As these numbers stabilise, it is recruiters who are able to navigate the market to meet both candidate and business needs.
